Who are you
hiring?
I’m Alex, a Celebrant who is conveniently based in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.
I am lucky to have the ability to travel between Melbourne, Daylesford, Hepburn, Castlemaine, Bendigo, Geelong, the Surf Coast and everywhere in between with ease to meet up with couples who are keen to get hitched in their own special way.
Along with being a Celebrant, I’m also a Registered Nurse who works in Undergraduate Education.
Prior to my career change into Healthcare, I was working full time in Hospitality at venues around Melbourne including Ellis Street Events, Union Dining (sadly both no longer around) the Prince Deck and Revolver Upstairs.
I have a background in Event Management and Venue Management which has definitely helped as a Celebrant.
I am a proud part of the LGBTIQA+ community, and I look forward to chatting to you about your upcoming life celebrations. I am here to help you with your ceremony and interpretation of modern love.

Ceremony drafts and re-writes as required
We do a dry run a week or two away from the ceremony (not required if we’re just doing the legal stuff)

Low Key
How does keeping it low key with just the two of you and two of your mates as witnesses sound?
If you're wanting to keep it simple with just the legal stuff, think about having me politely interrupt between entree and mains to officiate at your favourite restaurant.
Or perhaps over a drink at the bar where you first met?

Intimate Gathering,
Intimate Friends
Up to 20 of your nearest and dearest, no PA system required.
Just me with your mates in a bar, a park or backyard.
An intimate ceremony with a reading, a ritual, your vows and the legal stuff.
Mid Sized Nuptials
Designed for up to 60 guests in mind with my trusty BOSE PA provided to make sure those in the back row keep up!
Includes readings, rituals, your vows, entry and exit music plus the legal stuff.
Ideal for indoor or mid-sized venues, bars and restaurants
Full Sized Everything
For those with a bigger guestlist, I’ll be there with a dual microphone setup, my trusty BOSE PA and a second speaker (if needed) so that no one misses a beat during the love fest!
Includes readings, rituals, your vows, entry and exit music plus the legal stuff.
Ideal for a winery, larger venue or an outdoor ceremony.
What's included?
All packages include assistance with your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), No Legal Impediment paperwork and lodgement with Births, Deaths and Marriages
On request, there is an additional cost for your official Marriage Certificate with postage from Births, Deaths and Marriages as per their website (no additional charge from me)
Assistance with vows and a tailored ceremony are included in each package (aside from the Low Key ceremony option) and recommendations for readings
Venue and accommodation recommendations, as well as supplier and stylist recommendations if required
Being able to raid my collection of vintage plates, trinket trays and ornate oddities for ring or jewellery presentation for the ceremony or ritual being performed (see gallery below for a few examples)

Where do we even start?! Alex is an absolute legend. From day one, he totally got us—our vibe, our humour, our slightly chaotic energy—and ran with it, making our day so special. Alex has that magical mix of keeping things fun, heartfelt, and totally “us.” In the lead-up to the wedding, Alex like our ceremony fairy godparent— offering much needed guidance and making the whole process a breeze, which, when you are planning a wedding is so greatly appreciated! On the day, he brought the perfect energy: warm, relaxed, and just the right amount of sparkle. We felt completely at ease (which is saying something, because nerves!) and the ceremony was full of personality, laughter, and love. He even took our dog and daughter making a cameo at the alter all in his stride. We had so many lovely comments about Alex after the ceremony and many of our guests asked if they were a longtime friend—and honestly, it felt like he was! Can’t recommend them enough. 12/10, would get married by him again (but hopefully just the once!).

My wife and I were lucky enough to have Alex as the celebrant at our wedding in 2022. Right from the start Alex listened to us and guided us through the whole planning process. Alex is very professional and has a great work ethic. No task was too hard for him and he really made us feel comfortable through what can be a stressful time. He went above and beyond. On our wedding day everything went according to plan and our ceremony was everything that we hoped for and more. We are so thankful to Alex and couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

Alex was awesome on our wedding day! He took our requested little quirks in his stride without batting an eyelid. Our ceremony was perfect even when we had some yelping sheep in the background of our vows Alex’s light hearted demeanour help us all laugh it off and continue with the formalities. Prior to our wedding we met with Alex multiple times which allowed him to get to know us as a couple, my husband and I highly recommend!
